The Rimouski Oceanic are heading into the second half of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season in second place, on a six-game winning streak and with some new firepower on the blue-line.

Philippe Desrosiers made 43 saves and the Oceanic scored three unanswered goals in the third period to beat Quebec 4-3 on Friday and leapfrog the Remparts in the standings.

Rimouski also acquired defenceman Kevin Gagne and a sixth-round pick in the 2014 draft from Saint John. Gagne, a five-year veteran with the Sea Dogs, is second among defenceman in scoring with 11 goals and 23 assists in 31 games.

In return, the Oceanic sent a first- and sixth-round pick in 2013 to Saint John along with Cape Breton's fourth-round pick in 2014.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Moncton 4, Cape Breton 3 (OT); Halifax 5, Saint John 1; P.E.I. 5, Acadie-Bathurst 3; Shawinigan 4, Victoriaville 0; Rouyn-Noranda 5, Blainville-Boisbriand 4; Baie-Comeau 2, Chicoutimi 0; Drummondville 5, Sherbrooke 4 (SO); and Val-d'Or 6, Gatineau 3.

At Quebec City, Peter Trainor, Michael Joly, Jean-Francois Plante and Samuel Morin each scored for Rimouski (23-10-4).

Logan Shaw, Anthony Duclair and Martin Lefebvre replied for the Remparts (23-10-3), while Francois Brassard stopped 14 shots.

Trainor gave Rimouski the lead 7:20 into the first, but Shaw tied the game with a short-handed goal at 12:05.

A quick goal by Duclair just 36 seconds into the second gave the Remparts their only lead of the game.

Less than five minutes later that lead was gone. Joly tied the game with a short-handed goal of his own, Plante put the Oceanic ahead at 11:41 and Morin made it 4-2 on the power-play less than two minutes later.

Lefebvre scored on the power play at 19:33, too late for Quebec to find the equalizer.
