Kevin Gagne hit a new career high and helped the Saint John Sea Dogs end a four-game losing slide.
Gagne scored his 10th goal of the season Tuesday as Sain John downed the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3-1 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The 10 goals are a new personal best for Gagne in a season.
Oliver Cooper and Aidan Kelly also scored for the Sea Dogs (15-16-0).
Bronson Beaton replied for the Screaming Eagles (8-20-6).
Beaton got the Screaming Eagles on the board just 1:34 into the game but Cooper evened the score at 12:22 on a beautiful toe-drag.
Stephen MacAulay made a sharp initial pass to Cooper, who held on to the puck and roofed it over outstretched goaltender David Honzik.
Gagne pulled the Sea Dogs ahead at 15:57, with Ryan Tesink and Jakub Izacky assisting on the bullet from the point.
The second period saw no scoring, but Saint John dominated the shot clock 18-3.
Kelly iced the game with an empty netter at 18:58.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Moncton 5, Acadie-Bathurst 3; Sherbrooke 3, Victoriaville 2 (SO); Rouyn-Noranda 3, Val-d'Or 2 (SO) and Baie-Comeau 7, Shawinigan 2.
At Saint John, N.B., Sebastien Auger stopped 22 shots to pick up the win, while Honzik made 26 saves in defeat.

At Moncton, N.B., Christophe Lalonde struck twice as the Wildcats (21-11-0) topped Acadie-Bathurst (12-17-5).
