Carrick with three points as the Steelheads double up the IceDogs 6-3

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Trevor Carrick scored a goal and added two assists as the Mississauga Steelheads doubled up the visiting Niagara IceDogs 6-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Riley Brace registered a goal and an assist while Spenser Cobbold, Bobby MacIntyre, Josh Burnside and Dylan DeMelo picked up single goals for the Steelheads (12-5-1).

Mitchell Theoret scored two goals for the IceDogs (12-6-1), who had a three-game winning streak snapped, while reigning Canadian Hockey League Player of the Week Brett Ritchie also scored.

Spencer Martin stopped 28 shots for Mississauga while Christopher Festarini turned aside 18 for Niagara.

The Steelheads went 2-for-3 on the power play while the IceDogs finished 0-for-3.

With 6:24 remaining in the second period Niagara centreman Ryan Strome was given a game misconduct for hitting DeMelo from behind.
