Lethbridge Hurricanes score three third-period goals to down Victoria Royals 4-2

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Macoy Erkamps, Sam Mckechnie and Brady Ramsay all scored in the third period as the Lethbridge Hurricanes dumped the Victoria Royals 4-2 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League play.

Daniel Johnston had a short-handed goal in the second period for Lethbridge (11-7-2), while Ty Rimmer made 32 saves for the win.

Steven Hodges and Brandon Magee supplied the offence for Victoria (9-9-0). Coleman Vollrath stopped 36 of 39 shots for the Royals.

Erkamps scored nearly six minutes into the third to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead.

Victoria's Hodges replied to tie the game, then Mckechnie put away the eventual winner at the 15:12-mark of the third period.

Ramsay added some insurance with an empty-net goal with four seconds left to play.

Neither team scored on the power play. Lethbridge went 0-for-5 on the man advantage, while the Royals were 0-for-6.
