QMJHL Roundup: Fortier's back-to-back goals helps Oceanic upset Remparts 4-1

Simon Fortier helped the Rimouski Oceanic to an important upset Saturday.

Fortier has back-to-back goals in the third period — including the eventual winner — as Rimouski cruised past the Quebec Remparts 4-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The Remparts (13-4-0) are currently first in the East Division, while the Oceanic (10-6-2) are third. The Baie-Comeau Drakkar are second.

Anthony DeLuca gave Rimouski a 1-0 lead in the first, while Mikhail Grigorenko tied it for Quebec in the second.

Fortier then scored his two goals just under six minutes apart to give the Oceanic a 3-1 lead.

Jan Kostalek then put the puck into an empty net in the final minute of play.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Baie-Comeau 6 Chicoutimi 2; Rouyn-Noranda 2 Victoriaville 4; Blainville-Boisbriand 0 Moncton 3 and Halifax 4 Drummondville 0.

At Rimouski, Que., Carl Hozjan made 26 saves for the Oceanic, while Francois Brassard stopped 28-of-31 shots.

Drakkar 6 Sagueneens 2

At Chicoutimi, Que., Alexandre Ranger and Petr Straka both had a pair of goals as the Drakkar (11-4-2) sailed past the Sagueneens (6-10-3).

Tigres 4 Huskies 2

At Victoriaville, Que., the Tigres (8-7-3) scored three unanswered goals in the third period to rally past Rouyn-Noranda (13-5-1).

Wildcats 3 Armada 0

At Moncton, N.B., Alex Dubeau stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Wildcats (11-8-0) blanked Blainville-Boisbriand (13-4-2).

Mooseheads 5 Voltigeurs 1

At Drummondville, Que., Martin Frk had the eventual winner and added two assists as Halifax (16-1-0) downed the Voltigeurs (9-9-0).
