Mike Aviani had two goals and two assists as Chiefs route Thunderbirds 8-2

SPOKANE, Wash. - Mike Aviani had two goals and two assists as the Spokane Chiefs stayed perfect at home this season with a 8-2 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday in the WHL.

Todd Fiddler scored two goals for the Chiefs, who improved to 7-0-0 at home and 11-5-0 overall. Carter Proft, Tyler King, Liam Stewart and Brenden Kichton had the other goals for Spokane.

Aviani got the scoring going on a power play goal at 9:21 off assists from Jason Fram and King.

King followed with a goal of his own at 10:25, firing a shot from the blue-line past an unsuspecting Seattle goalie Brandon Glover.

The Chiefs struck again, as Fiddler grabbed an errant past from the T-Birds and scored a breakaway goal at 16:11.

Proft extended Spokane's lead to 4-0 a mere 15-seconds later on a shot from just outside the crease.

Stewart capped the first period scoring with a goal at 17:21 with assists to King and Adam Heleweka.

The Chiefs wasted no time in the second, as Fiddler scored his second just 50-seconds into the period.

Seattle got on the board at 6:50 in the second with Luke Lockhart sneaking a shot past Eric Williams.

Kichton opened up the scoring in the final period with a shot from just inside the blue-line at 9:59. It was Kichton's 50th career WHL goal and 200th career WHL point.

Aviani tallied his second goal of the night at 11:25 to round off Spokane's highest scoring game of the year.

Seattle dropped to 7-6-1 with the loss.
