Sylvester scores twice as the Hitmen double up the Rebels 4-2

CALGARY - Cody Sylvester scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the third period, as the Calgary Hitmen doubled up the visiting Red Deer Rebels 4-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday.

Brooks Macek had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (6-0-2), who won their third straight game, and Jake Virtanen added a single goal

Tyson Ness and Cory Millette replied for the Rebels (5-6-1), whose winning streak was snapped at three games.

Rookie goaltender Mack Shields stopped 17-of-19 shots for his first WHL win and picked up an assist while doing so.

Bolton Pouliot made 31 saves in a losing cause.

The Hitmen went 1-for-8 with the man advantage, while the Rebels failed to score on three chances with the power play.
