Josh MacDonald scores shootout winner as Barrie Colts edge Owen Sound Attack 4-3

BARRIE, Ont. - Josh MacDonald scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Barrie Colts defeated the Owen Sound Attack 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Winnipeg Jets prospect Mark Scheifele and Zach Hall each had a goal and an assist for Barrie (2-2-0).

MacDonald had the other marker while Steven Beyers chipped in with a pair of assists.

Daniel Catenacci, Daniel Zweep and Zach Nastasiuk replied for the Attack (2-0-1), who lost their first game this season.

Owen Sound had a 3-2 lead late in the third period, but with the goalie pulled, Hall threw the puck on net and scored for Barrie with just 30.3 seconds remaining.

Both teams struck with the man advantage. Barrie went 2-for-9 on the power play while the Attack finished at 1-for-6.

Mathias Niederberger turned aside 21 pucks for the victory.

Owen Sound's Jordan Binnington stopped 36 shots in a losing cause.
