GUELPH, Ont. - Andrey Pedan scored 44 seconds into overtime as the Guelph Storm defeated the visiting Saginaw Spirit 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Jason Dickinson scored twice for the Storm (1-0-0) while Justin Auger added a single goal.
Matt Finn chipped in with three assists.
Garret Ross and Vincent Trocheck had a goal and an assist each for the Spirit (0-0-1) and Eric Locke scored the other goal for Saginaw.
Garret Sparks made 23 saves for the win as Jake Paterson turned aside 29 shots in a losing effort.
Guelph went 1 for 5 on the power play while Saginaw failed to score with four chances on the man advantage.
