The Winnipeg Jets signed young star Evander Kane to a six-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday night.

Kane led the Jets with 30 goals in the team's first season in Winnipeg. A first-round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft, Kane turned 21 years old in August, and has 63 goals and 126 points in three seasons for the franchise. The deal is reportedly worth $31.5 million, according to Darren Dreger of TSN, so it will have an average annual value of $5.25 million.

He was a restricted free agent, but this deal keeps Kane under contract through the 2018-19 season.
