The 22-year-old took over the starting job in Washington after injuries sidelined Michal Neuvirth and Tomas Vokoun, and held onto it through the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Playing in all 14 postseason games, Holtby posted a 1.95 goals-against average and .935 save percentage.
In seven regular-season games, he went 4-2-1 with a 2.49 GAA and .922 save percentage.
Also sent to the AHL were forwards Mike Carman, Stanislav Galiev, Garrett Mitchell, Danick Paquette, Mattias Sjogren, Matt Clackson, Zach Hamill, Ryan Potulny and Ryan Stoa; defensemen Brett Flemming, Tomas Kundratek, Dmitry Orlov, Cameron Schilling, Dustin Stevenson, Kevin Marshall, Patrick McNeill and Garrett Stafford; and goaltenders Brandon Anderson, Philipp Grubauer and Dany Sabourin.
In addition, forward Tom Wilson, the 16th pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, was returned to his junior team, the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.
