New York Rangers sign goaltender Martin Biron to new deal

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The New York Rangers re-signed goaltender Martin Biron to a new contract Friday.

The 34-year-old native of Lac St. Charles, Que., had a 20-12-2 record over the past two seasons with the Rangers to go along with a 2.32 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and two shutouts in 38 games.

The 14-year NHL veteran has appeared in 500 career regular-season games with the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Islanders and Rangers, winning 228 games with a 2.61 GAA, .911 save percentage and 28 shutouts.

Biron was selected 16th overall by Buffalo in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
