Hockey Canada on Friday named Kitchener Rangers coach/GM Steve Spott coach for Canada's entry at the 2013 World Junior Championship.

Joining Spott as assistant coaches will be Drummondville coach Mario Duhamel, Spokane coach Don Nachbaur and Rouyn-Noranda coach Andre Tourigny.

The tournament will be held Dec. 26, 2012 to Jan. 6, 2013, in Ufa, Russia. Canada won the bronze medal at the 2012 World Juniors, held in Edmonton and Calgary.

In addition to Spott's success with Kitchener -- the Rangers have finished third in the OHL Western Conference three straight seasons, and this year advanced to the Western Conference Finals -- he has significant experience with Hockey Canada. He won a silver medal with the 2010 World Junior team as an assistant coach, and won a gold medal as the coach of the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Tournament.

Tourigny will be an assistant for the third time in the last four WJCs, having won silver medals with the 2010 and 2011 teams.

Duhamel and Nachbaur will be making their WJC coaching debuts.
