Eberle, Campbell and Moulson named as the finalists for Lady Byng Trophy

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Defenceman Brian Campbell of the Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers right-winger Jordan Eberle and left-winger Matt Moulson of the New York Islanders were named Monday as finalists for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy.

The award is given annually to the NHL player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct, in addition to a high standard of play.

The winner will be announced at the NHL awards banquet June 20 in Las Vegas.

Campbell helped the Panthers record a 22-point increase over last season and earn its first division title in franchise history. He appeared in all 82 games and led the NHL in total ice time while receiving just six penalty minutes. Campbell finished second among defencemen in scoring with 53 points (four goals, 49 assists).

Eberle led Edmonton in goals (34), assists (42) and points (76) in his second NHL season while accumulating just five minor penalties. Eberle is attempting to become the third player in Oilers history to win the trophy, joining Wayne Gretzky (1980) and Jari Kurri (1985).

Moulson posted career highs in goals (36), assists (33) and points (69) and was third in the NHL with 14 power-play goals. He accumulated just six penalty minutes while appearing in 82 games for the Islanders.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Martin St. Louis has won the award the last two years.

Members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association submitted ballots for the Lady Byng Trophy at the conclusion of the regular season, with the top three vote-getters designated as finalists.
