All good things must come to an end, including long homestands. The New York Rangers will wrap up a seven-game stretch at Madison Square Garden when they host Buffalo in one of six games on Friday's NHL schedule.

Both teams come into the game off home victories on Wednesday. The Rangers topped Detroit 2-1 in overtime to stay on top of the Eastern Conference standings, while the Sabres blanked Montreal 3-0 to move closer to eighth place and the final playoff berth.

The Sabres-Rangers game is one of four that gets under way at 7 p.m. ET.

Washington, which is trying to hold off the Sabres and Jets for eighth place in the East, returns home for a big game against Winnipeg. The Caps moved one point ahead of Buffalo after a 2-1 shootout loss in Philadelphia on Thursday. Also, Carolina tries for its fifth straight win when it visits Columbus, and Toronto visits New Jersey.

Friday's other two games begin at 7:30 p.m. ET. Florida returns home following Wednesday's 3-1 loss at Carolina to host Edmonton while Ottawa visits Montreal in a game that can be seen in Canada on RDS.
