Shane Doan has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Flames defenseman
Mark Giordano during Thursday's game in Calgary, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:49 of the first period. Doan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding on the play.
The fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
