Bryzgalov, Kovalchuk and Halak are named NHL weekly award winners

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Goaltenders Ilya Bryzgalov of the Philadelphia Flyers and Jaroslav Halak of the St. Louis Blues as well as left-winger Ilya Kovalchuk of the New Jersey Devils were named the NHL's three stars of the week Monday.

Bryzgalov was the top star, winning all three of his starts while posting a 0.65 goals-against average and .979 save percentage. He has recorded consecutive shutouts and overall has a 27-13-6 record, 2.59 GAA and .907 save percentage in first season with the Flyers.

Kovalchuk captured second-star honours after leading all skaters with five goals and nine points to help the Devils claim four straight wins. He currently has 71 points (30 goals, 41 assists) and has 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 21 games since the all-star break.

Halak is the third star after winning all three starts with St. Louis and posting a 1.00 GAA and .962 save percentage. Halak has a 1.84 GAA this season with a 24-10-5 record and .928 save percentage in 40 appearances.
