One of the best rivalries in the National Hockey League will resume in front of a nationally-televised audience Tuesday night.

The Detroit Red Wings -- who currently sit atop the Western Conference by just two points, will face the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and can be seen on the NBC Sports Network in the United States and TSN2 in Canada.

Chicago (32-21-7) has won three in a row. The Blackhawks trail the Nashville Predators by three points for the No. 5 seed in the West.

Five of 11 games begin at 7 p.m. ET. The New York Islanders will visit the Buffalo Sabres at First Niagara Center, while the Toronto Maple Leafs host the New Jersey Devils at the Air Canada Centre. Meanwhile, the New York Rangers battle the Pittsburgh Penguins in an Atlantic Division showdown, while the Columbus Blue Jackets host the San Jose Sharks.

Also at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Montreal Canadiens return to action as they host the Dallas Stars at the Bell Centre. That game can be seen on RDS in Canada.

The Anaheim Ducks, who have closed the gap between themselves and a playoff spot to just five points, continue their road trip Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. That game also begins at 7:30 ET.

One other game gets under way at 8 p.m. ET, as the Predators host the red-hot Vancouver Canucks at Bridgestone Arena. Vancouver (38-15-6) trails Detroit by just two points for the Western Conference lead.

In the final two games of the evening, the Edmonton Oilers face the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place, while the Phoenix Coyotes host the Los Angeles Kings at Jobing.com Arena. Both games are slated to begin at 9 p.m. ET.
