Devils-Caps on NHL Net-US highlights Saturday's action

Having won the front end of their home-and-home series against New Jersey, the Washington Capitals will go for the sweep in one of 11 games on Saturday's NHL schedule.

The Caps topped New Jersey 3-1 on Friday to snap a two-game losing streak and will be back at the Verizon Center for the first time since Tuesday's 5-2 loss to Dallas -- a showing that led coach Bruce Boudreau to hold a grueling 90-minute practice the next day.

The NHL Network will air the game to fans in the United States, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

Six more games also get under way at 7, including a meeting between the Senators and Maple Leafs in Toronto that will be seen in most of Canada on CBC. Ottawa lost 5-1 at Buffalo on Friday, while the Leafs are back home after a 3-2 shootout win at St. Louis on Thursday.

Buffalo moves on to Boston, where the Bruins will be trying for their fifth consecutive win. Pittsburgh, a 3-1 winner against Dallas at home on Friday, moves on to Carolina; the Hurricanes are back home after a 5-1 loss in New York. Dallas wraps up a four-game trip in Detroit, where the Wings blanked Edmonton 3-0 on Friday.

Nashville, a 4-2 winner at Anaheim on Wednesday, is back home for a rare visit from Montreal and two struggling teams meet when Winnipeg visits Columbus. Both of those games can be seen in parts of Canada on CBC.

At 8 p.m. ET, Tampa Bay visits St. Louis. The Lightning have been off for two days since beating Philadelphia 2-1 in overtime.

The second half of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada doubleheader sends Calgary to Colorado for a 10 p.m. ET start. The Avs are coming off a 4-3 overtime win against the Islanders on Saturday.

The last two games both start at 10:30 p.m. ET. Minnesota, a 3-1 loser at San Jose on Thursday, heads down the coast for a game in Los Angeles, where the Kings will try to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to the Canucks the same night. The Sharks, 8-1-1 in their last 10, will try to beat Phoenix for the seventh time in a row at HP Pavilion. The Coyotes are starting a six-game trip after losing 3-2 in overtime to Montreal on Thursday.
