NHL Network doubleheader highlights busy Saturday

It's another busy Saturday in the NHL, with 26 of the League's 30 teams in action, and fans in Canada and the United States will both have plenty to watch.

The long day gets under way at 3 p.m. ET when the Ottawa Senators become the second team to visit the renovated Madison Square Garden for a meeting with the New York Rangers. The Rangers lost their home opener 4-2 to Toronto on Thursday, a game that ended a few minutes before the Senators beat Florida 4-3 on a goal by Nick Foligno with 2.5 seconds left in regulation. The game can be seen on the NHL Network in the United States and on CBC in Canada.

Both networks will also be in Montreal for the 7 p.m. ET start between the Bruins and Canadiens, a rematch of the Habs' 2-1 win in Boston on Thursday. Other parts of Canada will get CBC's telecast of the Pittsburgh Penguins' visit to Toronto. The Penguins have won four in a row, including Thursday's shootout win against the Islanders.

Four other games also get under way at 7: The Isles are back home for a rare visit from San Jose, a 4-2 winner at Detroit on Friday night. Carolina, a 3-0 winner at home against Chicago on Friday, visits Philadelphia, where the Flyers will try to bounce back from Thursday's 9-8 loss to Winnipeg. The Jets move on to Tampa Bay, which lost 5-3 at Nashville on Thursday, and Florida visits Buffalo, a 4-2 home winner against Columbus on Thursday.

At 8 p.m. ET, Nashville tries to make it two in a row at home when Anaheim comes to Bridgestone Arena. The Ducks are coming in off a 3-2 win at Minnesota on Thursday. Also at 8, the Wild stay home for a meeting with Detroit, while New Jersey visits Dallas. At 8:30, Chicago is back home against Columbus.

A half-hour later, Los Angeles visits Phoenix in a battle of teams that won Thursday night -- the Kings won 5-3 in Dallas while the Coyotes beat the Devils 5-3.

The final game of the night might be the best -- the Washington Capitals, coming off their first loss in eight games this season, a 2-1 defeat at Edmonton on Thursday, pay a rare visit to Vancouver. The Canucks, who finished ahead of the Caps in the race for the Presidents' Trophy last season, have dropped two games this week and haven't played since Wednesday's 3-0 home loss to St. Louis. That game can be seen in Canada as the final game of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada tripleheader.
