You Decide: Which is the best goal in recent years?

Wednesday, 10.19.2011 / 4:13 PM NHL.com

With Jamie Benn's awe-inspiring, hard-working goal against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night earning acclaim as the top goal of the early weeks of the 2011-12 NHL season, NHL.com has decided to let you, the fan, vote on the best goal in recent years.

We all remember Alex Ovechkin's unbelievable goal when he somehow managed to get the puck into the back of the net despite falling down and having no sight of the goal itself, but was that better than Jordan Eberle's highlight-reel score that saw the youngster fly through the air against the Flames? Does Rick Nash's one-man-show goal against the Coyotes rate as one of the best goals of all-time, let alone in the last five years? How about Bobby Ryan's classic spin-move goal that gave him a hat trick against divisional rival Los Angeles?

None of these might compare with some of Wayne Gretzky's great goals or Mario Lemieux's beauties or Bobby Orr's infamous goal, but these are five of the finest goals you'll find in recent years.

There is really no wrong answer here, but we want to know what you think. Vote now to decide which of these amazing goals you think is the best of the best, and feel free to comment on them as well.
