By the time Kelowna finally tested Spokane goaltender Mac Engle, the Rockets were already in a deep hole.

Jason Fram, Mitch Holmberg and Anthony Bardaro scored before Kelowna had a shot on goal and the Chiefs went on to a 5-1 win over the visiting Rockets in Western Hockey League action Saturday.

Fram, a 16-year old rookie defenceman, had his second goal in as many games to open the scoring at 7:31. Holmberg followed with his first goal before Bardaro got his sixth, and fifth on the power play, at 13:16 for Spokane (2-2-1).

Kelowna (3-2-0) didn't get a shot until the clock dipped under five minutes. The Rockets were out-shot 18-3 in the first period and 17-4 in the second.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Prince George 2 Regina 0; Swift Current 6 Lethbridge 3; Saskatoon 5 Edmonton 1; Kootenay 2 Red Deer 1; Seattle 5 Victoria 4; Kamloops 5 Everett 2; Portland 5 Prince Albert 4; and Medicine Hat 4 Vancouver 3 (SO).

At Spokane,Wash., Homberg made it 4-0 less than a minute into the second period. Kelowna broke through on Cody Chikie’s goal at 14:15.

Barbaro's second goal of a game, his sixth power play goal and seventh goal of the season, made it 5-1 with 5:55 to go.

Engle only faced 12 shots in the Spokane goal while the Chiefs peppered Jordan Cooke with 45, including the first 15 of the game.

At Regina, Drew Owsley made 19 saves and Prince George (3-3-1) shut out the Pats (5-2-0).

At Swift Current, Sask., rookie Coda Gordon scored third-period goals 46 seconds apart to break a 3-3 tie as the Broncos (2-3-1) defeated Lethbridge (2-4-1).

At Saskatoon, Darren Dietz, Darian Dziurzynski and Duncan Siemens scored in the first period as the Blades (4-1-0) dumped Edmonton (3-2-2).

At Red Deer, Alta., Nathan Lieuwen made 33 saves as Kootenay (4-1-2) beat the Rebels (3-3-0).

At Kent, Wash., Branden Troock scored twice and Seattle (1-3-0) beat Victoria (4-4-0).

At Everett, Wash., Matt Needham scored two power-play goals late in the second period, leading Kamloops (4-1-0) over the Silvertips (1-2-2).

At Portland, Ore., Sven Bartschi had two goals and two assists as the Winterhawks (4-3-0) edged Prince Albert (2-5-1).

At Vancouver, Jayden Hart scored in regulation and added the shootout winner, as Medicine Hat (4-3-0) edged the Giants (3-3-1).
