PHILADELPHIA - Jaromir Jagr scored two power-play goals in a three-point night, and Claude Giroux and Danny Briere each had three assists as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 5-3 on Monday.

On the day the 2012 Winter Classic was officially announced to be played at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park on Jan. 2 between these teams, Jagr — a former star with the Rangers made his first home appearance with the Flyers. He has three goals during the pre-season.

The game had a regular-season feel, as both teams' No. 1 goalies — Philadelphia's Ilya Bryzgalov and New York's Henrik Lundqvist — were in net. The rival clubs combined for 77 penalty minutes.

Brian Boyle had a goal and an assist for the Rangers (1-1-1).

Braydon Coburn scored the winner at 6:35 of the third period for the Flyers (4-0), and Wayne Simmonds added his first with Philadelphia, tallying an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Bryzgalov made 17 saves. Lundqvist stopped 26 shots.

MONTREAL (AP) — Tyler Seguin and Chris Clark scored power-play goals in the third period to lead Boston to its second straight pre-season win over the Canadiens.

Seguin drew Boston even at one with his second pre-season goal 4:17 into the third off a rebound in front of Carey Price. Clark put the Bruins ahead with his first goal at 13:15.

Michael Cammalleri gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead with his third goal 15:33 into the second.

Tuukka Rask stopped 30 shots for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Bruins (3-0-1). Price went the distance and made 30 saves for Montreal (1-5).

WASHINGTON (AP) — Matthieu Perreault, Chris Bourque and Cody Eakin — all in top contention for the Capitals' final regular season roster spot — combined for six points in a pre-season victory over Columbus.

Perreault had a goal and an assist, Borque had three assists, and Eakin scored a goal. All contributed on Eakin's goal that made it 2-0 in the first period.

Dennis Wideman added a power-play goal in the first. Perreault scored with the man advantage in the second.

Vinny Prospal scored for Columbus in the third period.

ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland (AP) — The Winnipeg Jets thrilled a capacity crowd at the new home of their AHL farm team with a pre-season win over Ottawa.

Mark Scheifele and Troy Bodie scored in the second period for the Jets. Ben Maxwell added the other goal for Winnipeg.

Ottawa cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third period when Mika Zibanejad stuffed a shot past goalie Ondrej Pavelec. Despite a lengthy power play in the third period on a fighting penalty taken by Winnipeg's Patrice Cormier, the Senators couldn't net the tying goal.

The game was played before a crowd of 6,275 at the home of the St. John's IceCaps.
