Coyotes re-sign Boedker to two-year contract

The Coyotes re-signed forward Mikkel Boedker, the No. 8 pick in the 2008 Entry Draft, to a two-year contract on Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to sign Mikkel to a two-year contract," Phoenix General Manager Don Maloney said. "Mikkel is a talented, young player who continues to improve each season. We look forward to him playing an important role for us in the future."

The 5-foot-11, 202-pound Boedker recorded 4 goals and 14 points in 34 games with the Coyotes last season. His plus-11 rating tied for fourth on the team. Boedker also recorded 12 goals, 34 points and a plus-11 rating in 36 games with the AHL San Antonio Rampage. He represented Denmark at the 2011 IIHF World Championship, recording 3 goals and an assist in six games.

The 21-year-old native of Bronby, Denmark, has registered 16 goals and 45 in 126 career NHL games. He posted career highs in goals (11), assists (17), points (28) and games (78) during the 2008-09 season.
