VANCOUVER – San Jose Sharks forward Ben Eager's name was all over the score sheet after a 7-3 Game 2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night at Rogers Arena. Eager finished the night with a goal and 20 minutes in penalties while seeing 11 minutes of ice time.

Afterwards, Eager met the media:

Q: Ben can you go over your penalties tonight?

A: It's playoff intensity out there, the first call on (Daniel) Sedin, that's a penalty, he knows what he's doing there, he's turning, he sees me coming and I'll take that one. We killed that off.  The second penalty, I'm just trying to finish my check and (Mason) Raymond's going for a line change. That's playoff hockey here. It’s the conference finals. I don't know if that's the appropriate call there. Two games, they won their home games, we got to go home here and do our job at home.

Q: What were you saying to Roberto Luongo after the goal?

A: That's on the ice, it'll stay on the ice.  Did it look like I was sending a message? I scored a goal. I was happy.

Q: Talk about the hit on Daniel.

A: I was out there, I finished my checks. I finish all my checks. I went to close on him, he knows what he's doing. He turns his back. Like I said we killed that penalty.

Q: How costly was the tripping call in the third?

A: That last penalty, yeah it cost us. They scored on the power play, they have a dangerous power play and we got to stay out of the box. We're looking forward to going home and doing our job there.

Q: Do you think you will be hearing from the League for your hit on Daniel Sedin?

A: I'm sure I'll be getting a phone call. Probably two.

Q: What were your thoughts about Kevin Bieksa fighting Patrick Marleau?

A: We've seen that before with Kevin. It's sad that someone's gonna sign him for big money when he's a phony. He goes after our top players. He's been asked many times -- by lots of players throughout the League (to fight) -- and he's declined.
