What would the Stanley Cup Playoffs be without at least one Game 7?

After a series that looked like it might be a sweep, the Detroit Red Wings have forced a seventh and deciding game against San Jose by beating the Sharks three straight times. The third win came Tuesday, when the Wings scored three times in the final 10 minutes for a 3-1 victory in Game 6. The teams will reconvene for Game 7 Thursday in San Jose (9 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RDS).

The winner gets to face the Vancouver Canucks, who will have had five days of rest when the Wings-Sharks survivor comes to Rogers Arena on Sunday for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

In the East, Tampa Bay and Boston finally have a starting date for their series -- they'll play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Boston on Saturday, meaning both teams will have been off for more than a week.

With no games scheduled until the Wings and Sharks decide their series Thursday, here's your daily NHL.com Reading List for a set of quick links to some of the stories you won't want to miss:

Filppula picks the right time to find the score sheet
Valtteri Filppula hadn't done anything offensively in Detroit's series against San Jose, but he picked the right time to end his drought. Filppula had an assist and the game-winning goal Tuesday as the Wings rallied to win Game 6. Dave Lozo talked with Filppula after his big night.

Wings never stopped believing
It takes a determined team to keeping believing in itself when it loses the first three games of a playoff series. The Detroit Red Wings are such a team, and as Dave Lozo reports, the Wings' belief has been rewarded with three straight wins and a trip to San Jose for what could be a historic Game 7.

Sharks let another chance slip away
Despite being outplayed from Detroit to Dearborn, the San Jose Sharks were less than 10 minutes away from closing out the Red Wings in Game 6. But as Brian Hedger reports, once again they couldn't close the deal.

Canucks glad for some R&R
While their potential opponents in the next round battle in Game 7 Thursday, the Vancouver Canucks are enjoying the opportunity to get some rest and heal the bumps and bruises from their six-game battle against Nashville. Dhiren Mahiban reports on what the Canucks are doing during their break.

Tough way to go
The Nashville Predators made it past the first round of the playoffs for the first time ever. But as John Manasso reports, that first taste of postseason success made their six-game loss to the Vancouver Canucks in the second round even more painful.

East Finals have plenty of New England connections
Only one team in the Eastern Conference Finals hails from New England, but both the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning have New England connections, reports Bob Snow.
