What would the Stanley Cup Playoffs be without at least one Game 7?

After a series that looked like it might be a sweep, the Detroit Red Wings have forced a seventh and deciding game against San Jose by beating the Sharks three straight times. The third win came Tuesday, when the Wings scored three times in the final 10 minutes for a 3-1 victory in Game 6. The teams will reconvene for Game 7 Thursday in San Jose (9 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RDS).

The winner gets to face the Vancouver Canucks, who will have had five days of rest when the Wings-Sharks survivor comes to Rogers Arena on Sunday for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.

In the East, Tampa Bay and Boston finally have a starting date for their series -- they'll play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Boston on Saturday, meaning both teams will have been off for more than a week.

The Nashville Predators made it past the first round of the playoffs for the first time ever. But as John Manasso reports, that first taste of postseason success made their six-game loss to the Vancouver Canucks in the second round even more painful.
