Wild-Hawks on Versus Wednesday

Forgive the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans if it seems like they haven't seen each other for a while -- they haven't.

The Hawks haven't been home since they lost 4-2 to Minnesota at the United Center on Jan. 25. One All-Star break and six road games later, they're finally back -- and the Wild are again the party of the second part for one of eight games on Wednesday's NHL schedule.

The Hawks had three days to rest after Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss at Phoenix. The Wild dropped a 4-1 decision to Vancouver at home on Tuesday.

Versus will show the game in the United States, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

The night's action starts with three games at 7 p.m. ET.

Toronto, fresh off a 4-3 win at Boston on Tuesday, visits Buffalo, where the Sabres are home after Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win at Montreal. That game can be seen on TSN in Canada. Eighth-place Carolina visits New Jersey, where the Devils have had some time off since Friday's 2-1 win against San Jose. Carolina won its last game, 3-2 at Atlanta on Sunday. Los Angeles continues its 10-game road trip with a stop in Columbus. Both teams are coming off road wins on Sunday -- the Kings beat Philadelphia 1-0, while Columbus edited Dallas 2-1.

A half-hour later, Philadelphia tries to build on Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win at Tampa Bay when it visits Florida. The Panthers had two days off after beating San Jose 3-2 on Sunday.

Slumping Colorado tries to rebound from Monday's 9-1 wipeout by Calgary when it hosts struggling Pittsburgh at 9 p.m. ET. The Penguins come West after losing 5-3 at New York on Sunday. The Flames are back home to host Dallas at 9:30 in a game that can also be seen in Canada on TSN.

In the last game of the night, Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals pay a rare visit to Anaheim for a 10 p.m. ET start. The Caps will try to bounce back after Monday's 3-2 loss at Phoenix, while the Ducks return to the Honda Center after concluding a four-game trip with a 4-0 win at Edmonton on Sunday.
