In a move that will bolster their power play, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron to a one-year, two-way contract Tuesday.

Bergeron played in 60 games with the Montreal Canadiens last season and led all Habs blueliners in goals (13) and points (34). Bergeron was also tied for the team lead for game-winning goals with four and third for power play goals with seven.

The 30-year-old blueliner has also played in 43 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, recording five goals and 12 points. Nineteen of those matches were played in 2010 with the Canadiens, who reached the Eastern Conference Finals before falling to Philadelphia.

A native of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Bergeron has played in 399 career NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild and the Canadiens and has 75 goals (43 on the power play) and 194 points.
