Although Brayden Schenn didn't stick with the Los Angeles Kings, his return to junior hockey will be to the gain of the Brandon Wheat Kings -- and also Canada's National Junior Team.

Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League announced on Friday that Schenn has been added to the roster for Canada's National Junior Team selection camp. Earlier in the day, the Saskatoon product was returned to Brandon by the Kings after opening the season with the NHL club. He had 2 assists in eight games.

Schenn played for Canada at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatchewan, winning a silver medal. He joins defensemen Jared Cowen (Allan, Sask./Spokane, WHL), Calvin de Haan (Carp, Ont./Oshawa, OHL) and Ryan Ellis (Freelton, Ont./Windsor, OHL) as the only four players from that team at this year's selection camp.

The selection camp roster now includes a total of 40 players, including four goaltenders, 12 defensemen and 24 forwards.

Hockey Canada can still add additional players prior to the opening of the selection camp on Dec. 11, in the event that NHL teams loan Canada's National Junior Team junior-aged eligible players currently playing in the NHL.
