The Boston Bruins upset the Buffalo Sabres in the opening round of the playoffs last spring. The Sabres get their first chance at revenge when the Bruins come to town in one of nine games on Wednesday night's busy schedule.

The Bruins are coming off an October in which they went 6-2-0, capped by a 4-0 victory at Ottawa on Saturday. The Sabres were also involved in a 4-0 decision on Saturday -- but theirs was a loss at Dallas.

The Bruins-Sabres contest is one of three that faces off at 7 p.m. ET. In the others, the New York Islanders visit Carolina in a battle of teams coming off losses to Philadelphia, and Toronto visits Washington. That game will be shown on the NHL Network in the United States and on TSN in Canada.

A half-hour later, Atlanta visits Florida in a Southeast Division matchup. Atlanta has been off for three days after a 4-3 shootout loss at St. Louis, while the Panthers come home after a 3-1 win at Montreal on Saturday.

At 8:30 p.m. ET, the struggling New Jersey Devils, 3-0 losers at Vancouver on Monday, visit Chicago. The Hawks haven't played since winning 3-1 at Minnesota on Saturday. Also, Pittsburgh tries to build on a 3-0 victory at Carolina on Friday when it visits Dallas.

Detroit begins a three-game swing through Western Canada when it visits Calgary in a game that starts at 9:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on TSN. Both teams haven't played since Saturday -- Detroit is coming off a 5-2 home win against Nashville, while the Flames lost 7-2 to Washington at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

At 10 p.m. ET, Nashville visits Phoenix, where the Coyotes are trying to rebound from a 3-0 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. The Lightning continue their Western trip when they visit Anaheim, a 5-2 loser at San Jose four nights earlier.
