A pair of physical forwards were swapped Wednesday as the
Vancouver Canucks traded
Darcy Hordichuk to the
Florida Panthers for
Andrew Peters.
The 30-year-old Hordichuk, a sixth-round pick of Atlanta in the 2000 Entry Draft, has career totals of 18 goals, 33 points and 998 penalty minutes in 431 games with the Thrashers, Coyotes, Panthers, Predators and Canucks. He finished last season with 1 goal, 2 points and 142 penalty minutes in 56 games for Vancouver.
Peters, also 30, spent last season in New Jersey, going scoreless in 29 games with 93 penalty minutes. A second-round pick of Buffalo in the 1998 Entry Draft, he has 4 goals, 7 points and 650 penalty minutes in 229 career games with the Sabres and Devils. He signed with the Panthers during the offseason as a free agent.
