It appears the
Minnesota Wild will be in need of a new backup goaltender.
Josh Harding, who was injured in a collision during Friday's preseason game against St. Louis, tore both his ACL and MCL and will need surgery that likely ends his season.
The 26-year-old Harding was hurt when Wild defenseman
Greg Zanon checked Blues forward
Brad Boyes into him during the first period.
Harding, a second-round pick by Minnesota in the 2002 Entry Draft, has played parts of five seasons with the team and appeared in 25 games last season, going 9-12-0 with a 3.05 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. He posted career highs of 29 games and 11 wins during the 2007-08 season.
