Senators re-sign Foligno to two-year deal

The Ottawa Senators on Wednesday re-signed forward Nick Foligno to a two-year contract. No financial terms were disclosed.

Foligno, 22, finished his third NHL season with the Senators with 9 goals, a career-high 17 assists, 26 points and 51 penalty minutes in 61 games. He missed seven games in December after a right knee injury and 13 more after breaking his right leg in a game against the Montreal Canadiens on Jan. 30. In six playoff games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, he recorded 1 assist and two penalty minutes.

In 187 games during parts of three seasons with the Senators, Foligno has 32 goals, 67 points and 132 penalty minutes. In 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games, he has 2 points and four penalty minutes.

The Buffalo, N.Y., native is the son of former NHL player Mike Foligno and was Ottawa's first-round pick (No. 28) in the 2006 Entry Draft.
