Wild acquire Brad Staubitz from San Jose

The Minnesota Wild added some grit and toughness to their roster Monday with the acquisition of forward Brad Staubitz from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.

Staubitz, 25, recorded 3 goals and 3 assists along with 110 penalty minutes in 47 games for the Sharks this past season. He has 4 goals, 9 points and 186 penalty minutes in 82 career NHL games.
 
"Brad is a tough, physical player that will provide grit and energy to our team," said Fletcher.

Minnesota now owns seven picks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, including the ninth selection in the first round and four of the first 69 overall picks (#9, 39, 56, 69, 99, 159, and 189).
