Jared Staal, the youngest brother of Hurricanes captain
Eric Staal in a trade with the
Phoenix Coyotes.
In exchange for
Jared Staal, the Hurricanes traded a fifth-round selection in the 2010 Entry Draft.
In 59 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves this season. Staal scored 12 goals and 37 assists. He also appeared in five games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage, picking up 1 assist.
Staal was drafted in the second round, 49th overall, of the 2008 Entry Draft by the Coyotes.
Eric Staal was named captain of the Hurricanes during the 2009-10 season. He scored 29 goals and 41 assists in 70 games.
