ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Matt Anderson scored the game-winner with under two minutes to go in the third as the Chicago Wolves beat the Abbotsford Heat 3-2 in American Hockey League action Thursday.

Anderson got a couple of whacks at a loose puck in the Abbotsford crease and popped it past Heat starter David Shantz high glove-side.

With the win, the Wolves improved to 14-2-1 in their last 17 games.

Chicago (29-17-3) opened the scoring early in the first on the power play when Brett Sterling jammed a loose puck past Shantz.

Abbotsford's best chance of the opening period came when Jason Jaffray took a great feed from Evan Barlow. Jaffray beat Chicago starter Peter Mannino, but his shot rang off the post.

Steffan Kronwall tied things at 1-1 for Abbotsford (21-23-7) on the power play early in the second when he beat Mannino with a blast from the point.

The Wolves restored their lead just 23 seconds later when Tim Stapleton Anderson one-timed a feed from Anderson past Shantz.

The Heat fought back again as Josh Meyers one-timed a feed from Kronwall and beat Mannino high blocker side to make it 2-2 after two periods.

Mannino finished the night with 22 saves, while Shantz stopped 33 shots in defeat.
