TORONTO - Windsor Spitfires defenceman Zack Kassian has been given an indefinite suspension by the Ontario Hockey League, pending a further investigation.

Kassian was ejected from Thursday's game after being assessed a major for charging Matt Kennedy during the second period. Colts coach Marty Williamson thought Kassian left his feet on the hit.

"That's just baloney," Williamson told the Barrie Examiner after the game. "Kassian's six-foot-three. He doesn't have to leave his feet and target a hit like that. I just don't understand it."

Kennedy was injured on the play and didn't return to the game.

The 19-year-old Kassian was making his debut for Windsor after being acquired in a trade from Peterborough.
