FIRST STAR –
DANY HEATLEY, LW,
SAN JOSE SHARKS
Heatley led the NHL in points for the week with eight (5-3--8) as the Sharks recorded two wins in three games. On Oct. 6, he scored one goal and had two assists in a 6-4 loss to the
Los Angeles Kings. On Oct. 8, Heatley scored three goals -- including the game-winner -- and added an assist in a 6-3 victory over the
Columbus Blue Jackets. Heatley finished the week by notching the game-winner in a 4-2 win over the
Minnesota Wild on Oct. 10. Traded to San Jose on Sept. 12, the two time 50-goal scorer is tied for the League lead with ten points (5-5--10).
SECOND STAR –
JONATHAN QUICK, G,
LOS ANGELES KINGS
Quick stopped 80 of 88 shots in posting a 3-0-0 record with a 2.67 goals-against average and .909 save percentage as Los Angeles improved to 3-1-0 and a tie for first place in the Pacific Division. Quick recorded 25 saves in a 6-4 win over the
San Jose Sharks Oct. 6 and stopped 26 shots in a 6-3 victory over the
Minnesota Wild on Oct. 8. Quick finished the week by making 29 saves as the Kings defeated the
St. Louis Blues, 2-1, on Oct 10. In 44 appearances with Los Angeles last season, Quick posted a 21-18-2 record with a 2.48 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and four shutouts.
THIRD STAR –

VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Sedin finished tied for third among scorers for the week, recording seven points (3-4--7) as the Canucks won two of their three games. Sedin scored a goal in a 5-3 loss to the
Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 5. Two nights later, Sedin notched two goals and two assists in a 7-1 victory over the
Montreal Canadiens. He closed out the week by recording two assists in a 4-3 shootout win over the
Dallas Stars, Oct 11. In his ninth NHL season, the native of Ornskoldsvik, Sweden, leads Vancouver with eight points (3-5--8) in five games.
