Castle Shannon's Alice Kilgore has been a Penguins season-ticket holder for nearly 40 years. Prior to the 2007-08 hockey season, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby made a special hand delivery of Alice’s season tickets.

At that time a local Pittsburgh reporter asked her if she thought the Penguins would win the Stanley Cup.

"Not this year, maybe next year,” she said gently tapping Crosby on the shoulder.

So it was said, and so it came to pass.

Alice's prediction turned out to be dead on accurate. While the 2007-08 Penguins team fell short of their championship quest, the following season, just as Alice said, Pittsburgh went on to hoist the coveted trophy after knocking off the Detroit Red Wings in seven games.
