The second game in the Western Conference Semifinal between the
Vancouver Canucks and
Chicago Blackhawks was a tale of two halves for the Canucks.
For the first 30 minutes the home side could do no wrong as the Canucks led 2-0 off power play goals from
Sami Salo and Alex Edler while
Roberto Luongo was sharp as ever.
The final 30 minutes was a definite downer for Vancouver that ended with the Canucks losing 6-3, thanks to another comeback by the resilient
Chicago Blackhawks.
Perhaps worse, Salo turned up hurt after the game. The Canucks traveled to Chicago on Sunday without Salo, who remained in Vancouver for treatment of an unspecified lower body injury.
Salo returned to the bench wincing in pain Saturday after he scored the game's opening goal with a blast on the power play early in the first period. He didn't play another shift.
There was no word on whether he would fly later to Chicago for Games 3 and 4 against the Blackhawks on Tuesday and Thursday and coach
Alain Vigneault didn't rule out his return.
