Eddie Cahill - Rangers look to 'Capitalize'

As I sit down to write this, we are exactly one hour from the puck drop of game one, and I can feel the excitement in my fingernails! Unfortunately for them, this is the time of year where etiquette goes out the window and I become a nail bitter. Whattyagonnado?

So, from where I stand our beloved Rangers had a bit of a nutty season. At times terrific -best 13 game start in Franchise history- at times horrific -no need to cry over spilled milk- but the potential for greatness from this squad was alive in every game, and when all is said and done I feel strongly that they're in a good place heading into this series against Washington.

Sure the Caps beat us 3 out 4 times this season, but that means nothing now. We haven't played them since Torts and Co. came to town, and it's playoff time. All bets are off. That was then and this is now. If the Rangers can go ahead and play sound defensive hockey as they did consistently throughout the season and capitalize (no pun intended) on their offensive abilities as they have been doing of late...what's to stop 'em? I say nothing.

Before I finish, I'd like to say that I will miss Tom Renney on the bench. He may not have been the best suited for this team after all, but he is a fantastic coach, seems to be a classy guy, and I think we as fans owe him a debt of gratitude. Tom, if you read this (probably not) thanks for all of your hard work. Much appreciated. Also, saying goodbye to Peter Prucha was tough for me. Again, I get why he had to go, and I think it was a smart move, but it was a move that a little bit hurt the feelings. Mr. Prucha, I'm guessing you won't read this either, but thank you and good luck. It was a pleasure rooting for you.

Alright friends, I'm off to watch game one.
