Pens, Blues swap minor leaguers

The Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues swapped minor-league defenseman Wednesday with the Pens acquiring Andy Wozniewski from St. Louis in exchange for Danny Richmond.

Wozniewski, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound blueliner, had 1 goal and 16 assists in 56 games with the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League. He has 77 games of NHL experience with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 28-year-old went 2-7-9 in 48 games with the Leafs last season.

Richmond, 24, went 3-14-17 with 108 penalty minutes in 55 games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. A former second-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes (2003), the 6-foot, 194-pounder has three assists and 75 penalty minutes in 49 NHL games with Carolina and the Chicago Blackhawks.
