Barrie blanks Portland to earn first WHL shutout as Everett wins 3-0

EVERETT, Wash. - Shayne Barrie earned his first career shutout, making 22 saves to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 3-0 victory over the Portland Winter Hawks on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Jesse Burt, Byron Froese and Graham Potuer scored goals for Everett (14-10-3-0), which has beaten Portland 13 straight times.

Kurtis Mucha stopped 24 shots in goal for the Winter Hawks (7-20-0-0), who lost their sixth straight.
