It's Alfie, it's Spezza, it's the Sens! For two nights this week, the
Ottawa Senators will have a new home as games on Monday, Oct. 27, and Thursday, Oct. 30, will be produced by – and available exclusively on – NHL Network. These games mark the first of three
Ottawa Senators match-ups available exclusively on NHL Network during the 2008-09 NHL season.
Veteran broadcaster Judd Sirott will handle play-by-play duties for both Senators games this week, and will be joined in the booth by game analyst
Bill Clement, with Gary Green between the benches at ice-level. Brian Duff and Craig Button will be in-studio with further analysis and highlights.
In the first game,
Daniel Alfredsson and the Senators take on their Northeast Division rivals, the
Buffalo Sabres, on Monday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. ET. Three nights later, on Thursday, Oct. 30, the Sens continue their road trip as they head south for another exclusive NHL Network-produced contest when they take on the
Florida Panthers beginning with a 30-minute pre-game show at 7 p.m. ET.
NHL Network's live 40-game broadcast schedule also includes nine contests featuring the
Montreal Canadiens, five contests featuring
Sidney Crosby and the 2007-08 Stanley Cup finalist
Pittsburgh Penguins, five originally-produced NHL Network games, and one additional
Ottawa Senators match-up exclusive to NHL Network. Five late-season Sunday games will also be selected at a later date to take advantage of the more compelling match-ups as the race for the playoffs heats up.
In addition to coverage of the 2008-09 NHL season, NHL Network has 17 regular-season Central Collegiate Hockey Association games live on Saturday nights during the 2008-09 season.
