Murovich plays the hero against Plymouth to give Saginaw four wins in a row

SAGINAW, Mich. - Tyler Murovich scored with less then three minutes left in the third period to give the Saginaw Spirit a 3-2 win over their cross-town rivals the Plymouth Whalers.

It was Murovich's second game winner in a row as Saginaw (6-3-0-0) completed their third win in as many games this weekend and extended their overall winning streak to four games.

Ken Allicock and Jack Combs both scored first period goals as the Spirit controlled the play throughout the period, out shooting the Whalers 13-8.

Plymouth (3-5-1-1) battled back from a two goal deficit with goals from Jamie Devane and Chris Terry.

The Whalers scored their first goal in the last minute of play in the opening period to turn the momentum around as they outshot the Spirit 34-28 overall.

Edward Pasquale stopped 32 shots in the win and Matt Hackett made 25 saves for Plymouth.
