• Thomson registered 17-24—41 in 63 games for the Kelowna Rockets in 2018-19 – his first in the Western hockey League. The defenseman’s seven power-play goals ranked third among all rookie skaters behind a pair of forwards: Brayden Tracey (12) and Adam Beckman (8).

• A native of Tampere, Finland, Thomson grew up playing junior hockey for Ilves. In 2017-18, he spent the majority of the season with Ilves’ junior program where he led all defensemen on his team with 12-15—27 in 49 games.

• Internationally, Thomson helped Team Finland capture a gold medal at the 2018 Under-18 World Championship (0-2—2 in 7 GP) on a team that included Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi and No. 1-ranked International skater Kaapo Kakko.

• Models his style of play after Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen.
