• In 2015-16, his first Ontario Hockey League season, Sergachev led all defensemen in goals (17) and finished third among blueliners in assists (tied; 40) and points (57). He also placed third in overall rookie scoring behind Mississauga Steelheads forward Alexander Nylander (No. 3 NA Skater) and North Bay Battalion defenseman Cam Dineen (No. 39 NA Skater).

• The 17-year-old capped the 2015-16 campaign by becoming the second-youngest recipient of the Max Kaminsky Trophy as the OHL’s most outstanding defenseman, six days older than Craig Hartsburg (1976-77). He also became just the second rookie to receive the honor, joining Bryan Berard (1994-95).

• Sergachev earned the nickname “Misha” from his Spitfires teammates after relocating to Canada to pursue his dream of playing in the NHL: “I think it’s good for me because it’s my dream, playing in the NHL. Yes this is a big step for me, but I want to play in the NHL.”

• He won a gold medal with Russia at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and also represented his country at both the 2015 and 2016 Under-18 World Hockey Championships.
