• Teravainen split the 2011-12 season between Jokerit’s junior and senior clubs; he recorded 20 points (12-8--20) in 11 games for their junior team and 18 points (11-7--18) in 40 games in SM-liiga, the Finnish Elite League. Teravainen posted eight points (3-5--8) in 11 combined playoff games.
• He represented Finland at the 2012 Under-18 World Championship and finished fourth on the team with eight points (2-6--8) in six games.
• Teravainen also competed for Finland at the 2011 Under-18 World Championship and 2011 World Hockey Challenge, where he led his country with seven points (2-5--7) in five games.
• His hockey idol growing up was fellow Finn Teemu Selanne.
