• As a 16-year-old rookie in 2009-10, he led his team and finished in the top 20 in the WHL for rookie scoring with 34 points in 61 games and was named the WHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year.

• His dad, Dave, played 1084 NHL games for Vancouver, St. Louis, Florida, San Jose and Calgary (1985-2004) and was an assistant coach with the Calgary Flames the 2010-11 season.
