• During the 2008-09 playoffs, Roussel led his team and finished second in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League among defensemen with 18 points (5-13-18) in 21 games. He helped lead his team to the league championship before losing to Drummondville in a close seventh game.

• In his second season with Shawinigan, he finished third on the team among defensemen with 44 points (11-33-44) and ninth among QMJHL defensemen with a plus-31 rating.

• Roussel’s 2008-09 season was highlighted by a selection to the Second All-Star Team, the 2009 CHL Top Prospects Game and the 2008 Canada/Russia Challenge.

• Growing up he played his minor hockey in his hometown of St-Eustache, Quebec and for the Milles-Îles Lords from Atom to Bantam. He got started in hockey at the age of five because all of his friends were playing.

• His childhood hockey hero was Olivier Labelle – “he was the captain of my hometown midget AAA team” and he wears number 91 for his birth year.
